Jessie, our 7 year old, loves life. And she loves God. Yesterday during the Graystone Kids sing alongs, Jessie was worshipping Jesus to the best of her ability. She was closing her eyes, lifting her hands, and expressively singing with all of her heart. Some of the other kids in the class were making fun of Jessie because “she was really getting into praising Jesus (her words).”
Mrs. Rhonda, her teacher, pulled her aside and encouraged her to worship to an audience of one. I wonder how all of our lives would be different if we didn’t worry what others thought of us, and we lived for an audience of one. Let’s live our lives to please God and not people.
We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts.” 1 Thessalonians 2:4b
