Jesssie, my 7 year old, shared with me last night that Christmas and Easter are her two favorite holidays. She said that Christmas is her favorite holiday, because it’s the day Jesus was born. And Easter is her 2nd favorite holiday, because it’s when Jesus died on the cross for our sins. I love that girl.
Easter is a special time each year to celebrate the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is also a great season for us to focus on our personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accelerate our spiritual growth. I hope you will make the most of this opportunity.
Here are 3 Ways to Prepare for Easter at Graystone:
- Follow the Passion Week Daily Devotional Plan. We’ve put together a daily Bible reading and prayer plan for the two weeks leading up to Easter Sunday. You can find it online by clicking here. One of the most effective ways to grow in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ is by spending time with Him daily through prayer and the word of God. This is a great tool to help you.
- Celebrate Palm Sunday at Graystone Church. This upcoming Sunday, March 20, is Palm Sunday, and it marks the beginning of Passion Week, the last week of Jesus’ life. This Palm Sunday we will prepare our hearts and minds for Easter by having an extended time of worship and observing the Lord’s Supper together. I will also be sharing a special message based on Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples titled, One Family. I think it will encourage, challenge and inspire you. I’ve been thinking, praying and working on this message for several weeks. I’m pretty pumped to share it with our Graystone Family.
- Decide as a family which service you will celebrate Easter at Graystone. This year, we have 6 Easter services across our two campuses. If you go ahead and decide which service you and your family are attending, it will help you know which service to invite your friends and family. Studies show that over 80% of unchurched people would be willing to attend a church if someone would personally invite them. Easter is the best time of the year to invite someone to church. Who are you inviting? Also, at the Ozora Campus, we are asking our members and regular Graystoners to attend either the Saturday at 6PM service (Kona Ice will there.) or the Sunday at 8:00AM service (FREE donuts!!!). We are expecting and trusting God for twice as many people to attend Easter at Graystone than on a regular Sunday service, so we are trying to create space for new visitors during the prime Easter Sunday times at 9:15AM and 11:15 AM. So, if you and your family can make a small sacrifice by coming on Saturday night or early Sunday morning, we would greatly appreciate it. And God could use your small sacrifice to change someone’s life for all eternity. Our Walton Campus will have two Easter services at our regular 9:30AM and 11:o0AM times.
Please pray for me, our staff team and all of our incredible volunteers as we plan and prepare for a life changing Easter Weekend at Graystone Church!
