A Call to Pray

Unknown-1Last night in our elders meeting, I shared with the guys that God has been impressing prayer upon my heart.  It has been the reoccurring theme that keeps coming up as I read and study though the book of Acts.  Over and over again, I see that the early church was committed to praying together.  They joined together constantly in prayer (Acts 1:14).  They were devoted to prayer (Acts 2:42).  They went to the temple daily at the time of prayer (Acts 3:1).  When Peter and John were released from prison for preaching the resurrection of Jesus, the first thing the believers did was “raise their voices together in prayer to God” (Acts 4:24).

As a result of them praying together, the place where they were meeting was shaken (I would love to see Graystone shaken by prayer.).  And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly (Acts 4:31).  And many people believed and put their faith in Jesus (Acts 4:4).

I believe God is calling our Graystone Church family to pray.  And not simply to pray more or to pray better, but to pray together.  So, our little group of elders that met together last night (7), decided to start praying together at 5AM on Fridays at Graystone Ozora.  And we are going to invite others to join us.  We are not going to share prayer requests.  We are simply going to get together and PRAY.  I would love for YOU to join us.  And please feel free to invite ANYONE and EVERYONE.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and PRAY and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”  2 Chronicles 7:14
