When we began Graystone Church almost 10 years ago (BTW, we are planning a HUGE 10 Year Anniversary Celebration for October 2014.), I said we would NEVER have a Saturday night service. The reason for this is Saturday is the one day of the week for our staff to spend time with their families. The health of our staff and their families has and will always be more important than the growth of Graystone Church.
Well, we have decided to make an exception to this “rule” for a one-time Saturday night service for Easter on Saturday, April 19 at 6:00PM. There are two reasons we are having this Saturday night service:
1. We want to create space on Easter Sunday during our optimal service times (9:30 and 11:00 AM). Even though we’v added 100 chairs to the auditorium, and we’ve asked our staff and key volunteers to park on the football field, we are still pretty FULL on a normal Sunday. Well, EVERYONE comes to church on Easter Sunday, so we need to do all we can to make room for them.
2. We will be recording the Easter message on Saturday night for our Walton campus. Most Sundays, our Walton campus is a week delayed but that doesn’t work for Easter. At both campuses, we will all experience the same Easter service and message as we celebrate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Sooooooooooo, here is what I’m asking of our Graystone Ozora faithful: if there is any way that you and your family could come to Easter at Graystone on Saturday, April 19 at 6:00 PM, I would greatly appreciate it. It will create more space on Easter Sunday for our CEO’s and new people. Remember, we want ANYONE and EVERYONE to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. Also, my Easter message will be much better on video with more people and energy in the room on Saturday night.
We are sweetening the deal by providing FREE Bruster’s ice cream, for EVERYONE on Saturday night. Also, we will be having a pizza party for our Graystone Students who are volunteering to serve in the children’s area. So, our first ever Saturday night service at Graystone should be a blast.
If you cannot make it on Saturday night or you just want to celebrate Easter on Sunday, then no big deal. You and your family simply come when it’s best for you. We will have 6 Easter services across 2 campuses. It is going to be an incredible Easter celebration. Lives will be changed for all eternity, and God will be glorified. I cannot wait!
