I’ve been studying hard this week in preparation for this Sunday’s* message at Graystone Church. Actually, I’ve been working on this message series, Parenting: A 3 Ring Circus, since the month of July while I was taking a break from speaking. If you would like to be prayed up and study ahead of time, here is the outline and Bible verses for this Sunday’s message, Tightrope: Facing the Fears of Every Parent. (Please see footnotes below)
The Biblical Goal of Parenting
The process of teaching and training your child to leave.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJV
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24
1. I will be sharing this message live on Sunday, August 25, at our Ozora Campus. We will show it on video the following week, September 1, at our Walton Campus. Ken Sirmans, our Walton Campus Pastor, will be speaking live at our Walton Campus this Sunday (August 25) and will be sharing the message, Juggling: Keeping First Things First. Then, the following week (September 1), Ken will share his message at our Ozora Campus. So, the content (messages, music, videos, etc.) will be the same at both campuses. We are simply flip flopping the experiences. The reason we are doing this is for Ken to be able to teach live at Walton at least once a month. Sometimes, we will flip flop weeks, and sometimes we will show video at Ozora for the 10:30 and 12:00 services. The teaching will be live at 9:00AM at Ozora 99% of the time. If you are still reading this footnote, I am speechless, and you deserve a reward.
2. You might want to bring a box of kleenex this Sunday to Ozora and next Sunday to Walton, especially if you have a daughter(s).
3. Proverbs 22:6 is not a reference to potty training.
