Last Thursday afternoon, I received a “tweet” from Katie, our Children’s Pastor, that one of the Graystone Kids at Centrikid Camp wanted to get baptized and she was thinking about digging a mud puddle. I then “tweeted” Katie back along with our Student Pastor, Nate, that if any kids/students coming off of camp wanted to get baptized that we could set up the baptistry at Graystone for Sunday morning. I never received a “tweet” back from either one, and I assumed they were busy at camp.
Within an hour of Katie’s “tweet”, our facilities team had the baptistry set up for Sunday. We decided to set it up in faith believing that God would lead at least one person to get baptized. Well on Sunday morning at Graystone, 19 people crashed to waters of baptism professing their faith in Jesus Christ. PRAISE GOD!
Each person who was baptized (child, student, single adult and married couple) has a unique story of coming to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In the 10:30 service, the entire G45 Class (4th and 5th Graders) was in the main auditorium to watch and support their friends getting baptized. In the 12:00 service, a young couple walked in and saw the baptistry set up. God immediately moved in their hearts, and they spontaneously decided to get baptized. When I talked with them before the service, they said IT WAS TIME to commit their entire lives to God. We prayed together, and they got baptized in the clothes they wore to church. Every baptism has a story.
I’m honored that I get to be a part of God’s story. If you have ever served or given at Graystone, God is using you to change lives for all eternity. Thank you for being on the Graystone Team. May God have all the glory.
