Yesterday, most of my prayer time, think time, and Scripture meditation was focused on what God would have our family give to Project Kids Space. When Jennifer came in my office in the late afternoon, I ask her, “How much money do we have in our savings account?” This question usually freaks Jennifer out, but when I told her how much I felt God was leading us to give to PKS (which was double what I was originally thinking), she said that God had already prepared her for that amount. BTW, Jennifer is the realist and handles the money, and I am the dreamer who likes to take risks (steps of faith). We both have a peace with the amount God is leading us to give.
A couple of verses that I kept meditating on yesterday:
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” 2 Corinthians 9:6
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:20-21
If we give GENEROUSLY, we will reap GENEROUSLY. Over the last 16 years, we have always given as much as we were able and even beyond our ability (2 Corinthians 8:3), and God has ALWAYS graciously blessed our lives. How can we not trust Him AGAIN?
And besides, even if He does not bless us on this earth, we are storing up treasures in Heaven where we will be reaping the benefits for all eternity. YOU CANNOT OUT GIVE GOD!
Project Kids Space is going to produce a harvest in hundreds of kids and families. We certainly want to sow a seed into this ministry. And besides, Jessie has 5 more classes to grow through in the Graystone Kids area before she promotes to middle school. 🙂
