5 Things I Loved about Our First Cruise

Last week, Jennifer and I (Rusty too BTW) went on our first cruise to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary which was actually on May 20, 2010.  We took a Caribbean Cruise on the Norwegian Spirit out of New Orleans.  Below are 5 things I loved about the cruise.  Check back later for 5 things that I did NOT like about the cruise.

5 Things I Loved about Our First Cruise

5. Cave tubing in Belize

4. We ate surf and turf on my birthday (I’m 29 BTW) in a private dining room with the ship’s captain and staff captain.  And of course, if you know me just a little bit, I loved eating all the food on the cruise.  I will share more on this later and how much weight I gained.

3. Snorkeling off the coast of Cozumel

2. Disconnecting from technology for a week (no email, phone, blog, twitter, etc.).  I did watch Sportcenter and quite a few Jennifer Anniston movies.

1. Date Week with Jenn!!!

We would definitely love to go on another cruise.  We’ve heard that the Alaska cruise is great and also the Mediterranean cruise.  We are hoping to plan something for our 20th anniversary in 2015.

Have you ever been “cruising”?  What did you like the best?  What is your favorite cruise?

  1. We love to cruise! We have really only done the last minute cheap cruises to get a better deal so there are quite a few places/cruises I would still like to take. My favorite part about cruising is that you get to see more than one destination verses your regular beach trip. However, I should add that we enjoy them so much that Chris and I got married on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale just an hour or two before our cruise departed and jumped on the cruise ship in our wedding attire. I have to say I felt like a superstar boarding the ship in a wedding gown :).

  2. We just recently booked our 15th! It is one of the few times that Dale can “disconnect” from everything. And I like seeing lots of different places but sleeping in the same bed each night and only unpacking once.

Loved our Mediterranean cruise and Hawaii was also nice. Headed for Alaska next year.

  3. Cruising is wonderful! How else can you wake up in a different location each morning and never have to pack and unpack? I love the warm weather and beaches, but I’ll never forget my Alaskan cruise. Definitely a cool experience. Can’t wait to go back.
