Tornado Relief

Jim Hollandsworth is Graystone’s Executive Pastor.

Last week, a series of the most deadly tornadoes to hit the U.S. in 80 years devastated many parts of the Southeast.  I’m sure many of you have seen the pictures.  It’s unimaginable.  Right now, there are people who have lost everything and are trying to rebuild their lives.  It’s been amazing to see people from these communities and other parts of the nation coming to the aid of these in need.  We have an opportunity to help as well.

Together with a few other churches in our community, we are currently collecting supplies for tornado victims in Tuscaloosa, AL and Ringgold, GA.  We have been able to connect with a few specific families in Tuscaloosa and a church in Ringgold and on Friday of this week, two trucks will be leaving the Grayson/Loganville area with supplies for these two communities.  If you’re interested in donating supplies, please bring them by Graystone by Thursday afternoon.  The biggest needs are toiletries, medicine, band aids, washcloths, towels, bottled water, diapers, non-perishable food, and clothes.

Please consider donating supplies and please pray for the folks who were affected by these storms.  As Christians, we are the hands and feet of Jesus in this world. Let’s step up and care for those in need.

  1. I want to thank you for doing this. My niece lives in Ringgold on Cherokee Valley Rd. Seven of the people that died were her neighbors. The family of 4, was directly behind her. She lost everything and is pretty banged up. She rembers flying and tumbling thru the air. I was out there last week, went to the site on Friday to help look for her stuff. What i saw was heartbreaking. Bikes and toys where there once was a house, but none there now.
Keep them all in your prayers. They are going to need that more than anything for a long time. My niece is a Christian and knows it is by God’s hands that she is alive.
Thank you again for what you are doing.
