Monday Download: Do babies go to Heaven? Is there a literal Hell? Palm Sunday, Passion Week, and Good Friday Prayer Service.

Well, vacation is over, and I am back in the saddle.  Yesterday at Graystone, I answered 11 questions in part 2 of our Q&A series.  Jim took the easy questions in week 1.  You can watch our messages here.   Anyway, the hardest question to answer was “Do babies go to Heaven?”  My belief is YES.  What makes it hard is that there is no clear cut Bible verse, but 2 Samuel 12:20-23 makes a pretty convincing argument.  Jesus has a special love for children and I am convinced that in His love, justice and grace HE makes a way for them to be covered by His precious blood shed on the cross.  I also believe that ALL unborn children go to Heaven, and they will be united with their Christian family for eternity.

The question that has been on my heart and mind for the better part of 2 weeks is…”Is there a literal Hell?  If so, what is it like?”  The answer obviously is a big YES.  And Hell is a place of great physical pain that lasts forever.  The majority of our world is going to Hell.  Jesus makes that clear in Matthew 7:13-14.  Hell is a scary place.  And if we truly believe in Hell, then it will change the way we live.  I will post an article tomorrow called “That Hideous Doctrine” for those of you who want to study deeper on what the Bible teaches about Hell.

Well, the good news is that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, paid the penalty for us, and on the 3rd day rose from the grave.  I am so pumped about the next 2 Sundays as we will be celebrating Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday!.  We will have a quiet time plan for each day during Passion Week to prepare our hearts and minds for Easter.  Also, we will be having a Good Friday Prayer Service at 7PM on April 22.  More on this later.
