September 11

I woke up this morning and realized that it was September 11. This is one of those dates that we will never forget for the rest of our lives. Today, I have been sad as I have thought about the multitude of lives that were lost 6 years ago. I have also been reminded of the evil world that we live in. This past Sunday at Graystone Church, I spoke about the world that we live in being “The Danger Zone” and that we as Christians are in a battle every day against our enemy, Satan. To some people it seems a little far-fetched that there is devil…kinda of like there is no tooth fairy, Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. Well, our enemy, Satan, is not a fairy tale and he is not running around in a red jump suit with horns, a tail, and a pitch fork. Rather, he is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8) and he is shooting his flaming arrows of temptation (Ephesians 6:16) at anyone who chooses to be a follower of Jesus Christ. In fact, Satan is specifically looking to devour:
1. New Christians…babes in Christ
2. The Youth….Middle School and High School kids (watch lifehouse youth video)
3. Pastors and Spiritual Leaders
4. The Family
Spiritual warfare is not a game. It is a war and we are in a battle for the souls of men, women and children. Let me encourage you every day to put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), so that you can take your stand against the attacks of the evil one. And always remember that even though we are daily fighting the good fight, the ultimate victory has already been won by our Hero, Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
