At first, we didn’t think that Jennifer being diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer was that big off a deal. As it has turned out, it was a bigger deal than we thought. Only 4% of skin cancer is melanoma, which is the kind that can spread to the rest of the body. Therefore, it became an urgent matter to remove the spot on Jennifer face as quickly as possible.
Long story short, the doctors removed all of the cancer. They had to cut a hole in Jennifer’s left cheek about the size of a quarter. In order to cosmetically repair the hole, the doctor made an incision about 5 inches long from under Jennifer’s left eye to her jawbone. It actually took 65 stitches. Right now, she is swollen and bruised.
Praise God that the cancer is gone! Pray for God to “heal her wounds”. JENNIFER IS VERY BEAUTIFUL!
We are so thankful to have such a loving church family. Thank you so much for your prayers and friendship!
Johnny
PS When the doctor was explaining the surgery to me (on two occasions…both before and after the surgery), I almost passed out and had to be attended to by the nurses. They wanted to lay me down in a bed but a diet coke and a honey bun made me feel better. I am such a big wimp!

Man, God is so good. You are so right, Jennifer is beautiful and no matter how many stitches she may get that will never change. We love you all!!

Hooray! Yet another reason to praise God this weekend!!! (: Give Jennifer our love.
Wow!! Praise God!! Take care, Jennifer.
I will pray for a speedy recovery !!!
Some one once told me ” behind every good man, their is a great women.” Jennifer you are great!!! Our thoughts and prayers will be with ya’ll.
That is good news! My friend had a very similar surgery a few months ago and her scar has faded so much–so be patient about that. Also, Jonathan, I had the same reaction when Amy had jaw surgery several years ago–I felt like the worst mother because i couldn’t go near without feeling faint as long as blood was appearing! Needless to say, I did not earn Mother of the Year that time! Let me know if there is anything you need. Love you both!
Rejoicing with y’all!
