‘”He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” Matthew 12:30
Jesus was very clear that we are either gathering people for him or we are scattering people away from him. Which one are you?
Unfortunately, too many “Christians” are turning people away from God because of their character (or lack thereof) and lifestyle. Our words, integrity and actions should be so attractive to others that it draws people to Jesus. Jesus says that we are to live “in the world” and not “of the world”. Again, too many “Christians” are living “of the world” but have separated themselves from the world….no impact without contact.
We are the “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world”. People should see a major difference in our lives than they see in others. And the difference should be Jesus Christ. There is nothing worse for the kingdom of God than a person (especially a pastor) who claims to be a “Christian” but does not live like one. If you are not going to live for Christ, then it would be better to keep it a secret that you are a “Christian”…or at least claim to be.
So, sorry for all the cliche’s and going off on that soapbox. My initial intent of this blog post was to challenge you to gather people for Jesus. Every Sunday morning at graystone we gather for worship, and we want to gather as many other people as we possible can. Who is God wanting you to invite to our grand opening? Who are you praying for and trusting God to become a “living stone” at graystone? Our grand opening this Sunday is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you invite all of your friends and family to graystone but more importantly, to JESUS.
